Centre for University Teaching
The Centre for University Teaching serves the entire teaching community (full-time professors, part-time professors, teaching assistants and post-doctoral fellows). We offer a wide range of activities, including more than 30 workshops per year and a specialized course and practicum. All our activities are designed to help you innovate in your teaching or to establish (and even finance, with the assistance of our grant program) special initiatives to improve your students’ learning.
We also organize various lectures related to pedagogy, the highlight of which is the Kesarwani lecture in the month of December.
Resource centre
The Centre for University Teaching also has a resource centre with a collection of over 2500 books, periodicals and multimedia resources devoted to pedagogy. The collection is regularly updated to reflect new research in the field.
Individualized services
If you prefer a more personalized approach, our educational developers would be happy to meet with you and advise you on any aspect of your teaching or teaching-related professional development. We can even come to your class to observe your teaching and give you constructive, professional feedback which will improve your day-to-day work. This will allow you to save time, as well as, better communicate with your students, increase their engagement and improve their university experience-all factors which will have a direct impact on your course evaluations.
